My very first mixed media canvas!!

Hello everyone!

Today I want to show you something different that I have been working on for a couple of days (on and off) - my very first mixed media canvas!!! I am sooooooo amazed by this art form and I just love it! Of course it had to be purple and pink, they are my favourite colours :) But I decided to make it interesting and added a vibrant turquoise to it as well and I love the result :)

I have used many dies for this project, a full list will follow below. I started my project making die-cuts with craft foam and then I decided how I wanted the layout to look like. I also cut the big butterfly swirl with my new Silhouette Cameo three times and glued it together to make it more of a home made chipboard.

Then I used different stencils and some modeling paste to give the canvas some structure. I painted all the die-cuts and charms and clay embellishments with white gesso.

When all the pieces were glued to the canvas I started having fun with Dylusions Ink sprays and I actually also used an Adirondack Wash colour, Plum to make the purple edges as dark as I could get them.

When I was happy with the colours on the canvas I started having fun with different Inka Gold mediums! When dry I used stickles over some of the areas because I looove glitter!

Finally I decided to used some more sparkle, I used Diamond dust by Twinklings to cover my handmade roses and to be honest the photo doesn't quite show the real beauty of it, but I really like the structure it gives!
